Welcome

St. Nicholas Episcopal Church of Kapolei Hawaii has held "Covenant Group" meetings for about 10 years. These groups meet weekly for fellowship, prayer and reflection on the readings and the sermon from the previous week. This blog is an attempt to offer the prayer and reflection as an on-going basis. The challenges of schedules and more prevent many members from participating in our groups, perhaps this will allow for additional participation. I will post readings and questions - please answer the questions and contribute as you're comfortable in the comment sections. Blessings

Look - lost and found

Losing something can really hit you in the gut – that moment of panic if it’s something vitally important and precious – the huge wave of relief if you find it – the sense of despair if it’s lost forever…

1.         What’s the worst thing you ever lost?  Did you find it?  How did you feel?
2.         Who does the best at finding things in your household?  Who’s the worst?

3.         Have you ever helped find something for someone?  How did you feel when it got found?

  1. 1. This one is hard for me. Oddly, I remember loosing a shopping bag with new clothes one time when I was about 10, we were visiting my sister in Madison and stopping different places and it may have been the first time I was responsible to hang on to something like that. We have no idea where it ended up. None. To me it's kinda odd to remember that, but it made an impression I guess.

    2. Me. Sorry honey. Actually, to be fair, I'm not great at finding things - I hate looking, so I try to put things away so I never have to look for them. The kids are the worst, things can be sitting out in the open and they won't see them.

    3. at home this is a frustrating exercise, both in the looking and the finding. I felt better helping finding lost dogs or helping a kid who looses a parent in the shopping mall

    1. When I was a kid, I lost the class funds. I found it when the school year was over. I felt horrible.
    2. My wife is the best at finding things. Jonah is the worst.
    3. Yes. I felt like a detective.
