One time dad and I literally forgot the tent. Yet, it didn't ruin the trip, we simply slept in the back of the car. Objects can bring comfort or make things easier, but it's almost always possible to forgo.

Day-to-day I often have my messenger bag with me, but I try to keep that light. I'm always changing up what's in it, but it's a place to keep the essentials (wallet, keys etc). I also make sure that some days I'm able to go without it, especially on the motorcycle. It's very freeing to go with just a light wallet and my phone.

I've gotten progressively lighter on my packing for trips. I've gone for a week in a small packback just to see if I could. Technology seems to help me on this too.Fr. And I HATE purses so try to keep mine small and uncluttered for day to day use, but purses are like the bag in Mary Poppins - fill up with ALL kinds of stuff - ugh! Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
