Welcome

St. Nicholas Episcopal Church of Kapolei Hawaii has held "Covenant Group" meetings for about 10 years. These groups meet weekly for fellowship, prayer and reflection on the readings and the sermon from the previous week. This blog is an attempt to offer the prayer and reflection as an on-going basis. The challenges of schedules and more prevent many members from participating in our groups, perhaps this will allow for additional participation. I will post readings and questions - please answer the questions and contribute as you're comfortable in the comment sections. Blessings

Look

Accountability is about mutuality and community, rather than a firm set of rules.

1.             Who helps hold you accountable (boss, spouse, children, etc.)?  How?
2.             Who do you hold accountable?  How?

3.             Have you ever had a relationship damaged because of lack of accountability?  Elaborate.

  1. 1. My wife. For sure. Don't get me wrong though, it is in the best possible sense, I am a much better person because of her. If I followed all her advice I'd probably be so good it would make us all sick ;)
Others from church also are tremendously helpful in the accountability as a pastor and as a Christian. I also have some clergy mentors I turn to with difficult questions

    2. Hmm. . . my children, at least most of the time. I try to help others accountable, but appreciate "permission" to do so. Some times there are friends that desire some more accountability from those who know them well.

    3. I've had some relationships suffer because the lines of accountability were not clear, or where I (or they) overstepped the accountability that the relationship offered.
