Welcome

St. Nicholas Episcopal Church of Kapolei Hawaii has held "Covenant Group" meetings for about 10 years. These groups meet weekly for fellowship, prayer and reflection on the readings and the sermon from the previous week. This blog is an attempt to offer the prayer and reflection as an on-going basis. The challenges of schedules and more prevent many members from participating in our groups, perhaps this will allow for additional participation. I will post readings and questions - please answer the questions and contribute as you're comfortable in the comment sections. Blessings

Look - Persistence . . . persistence . . . persistence . .

LOOK
We can all probably recite a story of how persistence paid off for someone – be it working at a skill over and over and over until it was mastered or even watching a nagging child appeal to its parent until it got what it wanted.

1.      What are you persistent in?
2.      Are there other things you are not willing to be persistent about?  Why is that do you think?

3.      Has anyone persistently badgered you until you gave in?  What was that for, and what do you think made you finally cave in?

  1. 1. I'm persistent in the Bible, especially the Daily Audio Bible, I've found that very rewarding. I'm pretty persistent with laundry and the dishes, but there is a lot less joy in those pursuits . . . maybe if I keep going.

    2. I'm a little caught on the word "willing", while I suppose it's fair enough -- I have struggled to maintain a persistent commitment to Covenant Groups. I enjoy it when I go, or even post on here, but have a hard time making sure I do it each week.

    3. You mean like how I got my wife to marry me . . ?

  2. Kerry says:

    1. Problems that cross my path.
    2. Bills, taxes, paperwork. I just don't like doing them.
    3. Jonah. His video game privileges. His ability to plead his case. He may become a very good lawyer.
